Intermediate Term Trading, Long Term Investing, Mutual Fund Investing
Intermediate term trading is a style of trading that holds stocks for an extended period of time, usually several months to one year. This type of trading bridges the time gap between short term trading of a few days to weeks, to long term investing that
holds for many years.
Intermediate term trading is especially useful during bear markets and long term trading range markets when the broad market of stocks is not trending up. There are always a few companies that excel even during weaker markets but usually these up-trends do not last many years but several months to one year in duration. Knowing how to enter as a stock comes out of a bottom and how to identify a topping formation are key to success with this style of trading.
Long Term Investing and Mutual Funds must incorporate Product Cycle for new technology in their analysis of potential stocks for your portfolio. Each time the market has had a strong bull market that has lasted for a decade or longer, there was new technology that entered the consumer marketplace. TechniTrader® students are taught which new technologies are coming to market now and how to identify those companies that are leading their industry to market dominance. This gives the TechniTrader® long term investor and Mutual Fund investor a decided advantage over the average investor or investment group. You learn how to get in early while the stock is still low in price to net the most return on your investment over the years.
But in addition to these longer hold styles of trading and investing, you also need to consider complimenting your investing with some short term trading from time to time.
Long term investing is your savings account for your retirement. But short term trading is your checking account where you can augment your income at home in your spare time.
By using both long term investing and short term trading your profits and return on investment from the market increase dramatically. To find out more about short term trading styles, visit the swing and position trading style pages.
