Is Methodology Essentials suitable for beginners, or do I need trading experience?
You do not need prior trading experience. Every edition begins with the fundamentals and builds step by step toward creating, practicing, and executing a complete trading plan. Standard provides the most direct starting point for new traders, while Premier and Elite add greater depth, tools, and support for experienced traders or students who want a more comprehensive learning experience.

How long will it take?
Most students complete the video modules in about a month and then spend at least 3 months on simulator trading before they go live. Each student is different, but we're here for ongoing support along the way.

How does simulator trading work?
If you already have an online brokerage account, then it probably has a trading simulator available for you to use. We'll help you find it and the order types we teach during Phase 2 of your Methodology Essentials training. Or, we'll provide you with the best recommendation for your needs.

Which charting programs do you support?
We have the most tools available for TC2000, MetaStock and Stockcharts.com. But we can support most any other program: TradingView, ThinkorSwim, TradeStation and more.

Can this methodology be used for trading e-minis, forex, cryptos or overseas markets?
Yes. While you'll learn from the focus of the U.S. stock market--the largest, most liquid, transparent and regulated market in the world, which anyone anywhere in the world can trade--our trading methodology can be applied to any market. We recommend that all beginners start with U.S. stocks and branch out from there.

Are there any additional costs?
Only if you want to add onto your trading education or continue reviewing your courses after 1 year, which is usually more than enough to complete and review the Methodology Essentials a few times. The trading tools that come with the course, which we create for 3rd party charting programs, are yours permanently. But once you begin trading, you will have the normal costs of trading for 3rd-party charting data services, brokerage fees and any other services you need. You'll find our best recommendations for these 3rd-party services in your course.

CMT, CEO, Head Instructor Martha Stokes
Martha's life's work in her retirement years is to pass her decades of knowledge and experience in the markets onto her dedicated TechniTrader students.
Martha Stokes CMT is a retired professional Buy-Side Analyst. She is a member of the CMT Association and earned the Chartered Market Technician designation with her thesis, “Cycle Evolution Theory.” She is a prolific author, having created over 50 stock market courses that include new, unique analyses: Relational Technical Analysis, Market Condition Analysis, and Spatial Pattern Recognition. Her focus for long-term investments is emerging displacement technologies that will have a significant impact on society, the economy, and the stock market.
Martha ran a successful fund, has sat on both sides of the Venture Capital table, worked on an IPO, and has taught at several community colleges. Howard Johnson is now retired from TechniTrader. He was a Senior Trading Manager for a closed fund. During his years as a professional trader, he developed proprietary trade order systems, trade risk calculators, and trading plan calculators, which he generously shared with our students. Howard toured the US & Canada as a popular speaker & educator.
